Alertxt is a secure risk reduction system that communicates problems immediately, rather than leaving a paper note placed on a car or home trying to reach its owner. It enables a Good Samaritan to text or call an 800 number and leave a message about an irregularity or hazard they see concerning a vehicle or home enrolled in the program.
The information is then analyzed and passed onto the car or home owner, who subscribes to the Alertxt service, to resolve the issue. Some examples of car issues that can be reported are flat tire, fluid leak, broken light, horn blasting, fender bender, parking meter expired, etc. While home issues relate to water leaks, shattered windows, storm damage, unattended items, etc.
To use the service the vehicle, or home owner subscribes to one of the plans offered by Alertxt, which ranges from $25.00 to $80.00 per year. The subscriptions include analysis to resolution services along with placards to place on the home and a license frame with a QR code that anyone who wants to report an issue about a vehicle or home can scan.
